Chakrubs sources most of its stone from Brazil, carves each piece for the body from never-owned mother stone, polishes it by hand & inspects it before it ships. Small variations in colour & pattern are normal in natural stone.

Chakrubs reports that researchers from the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) told it rose quartz, clear quartz & amethyst are non-porous, so the Heart & Prism pieces carry that claim; the obsidian, aventurine & rhodonite pieces do not. Other stones, in the brand's words, may be porous or have closed porosity: surface pores that wash clean with mild soap & warm water. Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass. Every piece is made for internal use & checked for smoothness before it ships.

Wash it before & after each use with mild soap & warm water, never boiling, dry it fully & store it in a cool, dry place. Crystal feels cool at first & warms to body temperature in use, or under warm water beforehand. Solid stone can crack or chip if dropped on a hard surface, so handle it with care & check it for damage before each use.

Drilled eggs have a hole & come with a string, which makes removal easier & allows the advanced practices Chakrubs describes on its site; non-drilled eggs have no hole & are slightly easier to clean. Chakrubs suggests natural lubrication or a water-based lubricant for insertion if needed, & wearing the egg for a few minutes at first, up to 20 minutes. Sexy Living carries the medium egg (42 mm × 30 mm, 2 oz), the brand's standard size, in rose quartz, clear quartz & black obsidian, drilled & non-drilled.

Chakrubs sells its products for spiritual & metaphysical purposes only, makes no scientific or medical claims & describes the benefits mentioned on its site as anecdotal.
